Sigh.
So I unfollowed the Justified-related tumblr I usually follow for the new episode since I usually watch it a day or more late and I don’t want spoilers, then I went hashtag diving since I just finished this week’s episode, and sometimes I really, really, really want to punch fandom.
Can we not hate Winona because she is not sure what she wants given that she is in the process of getting divorced from a man-child who likes to buy racehorses and speculate on real estate and get in even more hock with the Dixie Mafia at the same time as she is dating her ex-husband (and it’s not like there are no issues there, and it’s certainly not like we haven’t seen lots of evidence of those issues this season) and she wasn’t always a court reporter and maybe she hates it when the underwear judge manhandles her and maybe it’s not easy working in that courthouse with her ex-husband and maybe she’s worried about how she’s going to keep a roof over her head depending on how divorce proceedings work out because it’s not like court reporters make bank? MAYBE IT MAKES SENSE THAT SHE DID SOMETHING STUPID, BECAUSE MAYBE SHE FELT DEEP DOWN LIKE ALL THAT LAWMAN BULLSHIT OWED HER SOMETHING.
So can we please not call her a bitch or worse just because we don’t agree with her decisions, considering it’s reasonable that she may not in fact be in a great mental place to make decisions about her future?
Please?
I mean, I realize it’s a thing in fandom to get a hate-on for whatever lady is fucking the (probably) straight male protagonist at the moment, but seriously, wishing it had been the guy who shot her and not Raylan who shot the guy is fucking ridiculous.
